Recently, Guangdong ceramic enterprises have welcomed the "bad news" - Guangdong plans to include ceramics and other industries into the carbon market, which means that Guangdong ceramic enterprises will add a "carbon emission" cost in the future. According to estimates, the "carbon emission" cost of large ceramic enterprises can reach 30 million yuan to 40 million yuan!

On July 14, the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government Information Office held a press conference on the construction of the Guangzhou Green Finance Reform and Innovation Pilot Zone. At the meeting, the person in charge of the Guangzhou Carbon Emissions Trading Center introduced that as of June 30 this year, the Guangzhou Carbon Exchange had accumulated 207 million tons of transaction quotas, accounting for 27.7% of the national total; the total transaction value reached 5.092 billion yuan, accounting for 22.62% of the national total. %; both the transaction volume and transaction amount ranked first in the country. At present, the emissions of electricity, cement, steel, and petrochemical emission control enterprises in carbon trading have achieved absolute emission reductions, and the emission reduction rate has reached 12.3%.

The person in charge of the Guangzhou Carbon Emissions Trading Center said that it is currently exploring to gradually expand the scope of emission control industries, and plans to include ceramics, textiles, data centers and other industries into the Guangdong carbon market.
